Books and Bagels
Hey!! You know whats coming up soon, Books and Bagels! Book and Bagels is when you can have bagels and you have a choice to buy a book from the book fair. You can invite your parent/guardian to have bagels with you, and you have the choice to read them a book. Book and Bagels will be on Thursday, May 7th at 7:15-8:30am. Make sure to bring your parents and come to Books and Bagels! Have Fun!!
College and Career 4.18.15

This week is college and career week. The purpose of this is so that students can be prepared to know what college they will attend and job they are going to do.
This week our school dress code is going to be fun. If you participate, you will have to wear kakis with the shirt that you wear.
Yesterday (Monday) we were supposed to wear a college t-shirt. We did this so we could be thinking about what college we are going to be going to.
Today (Tuesday) we were supposed to wear a team jersey or green. Happy Birthday Mrs. Burchett! We wore the team jerseys because we want to show teamwork and green for St. Patrick's Day.
Tomorrow (Wednesday) we are supposes to dress in vacation wear because our career can take us anywhere!
Thursday we are dressing up like what we are wanting to be when we grow up because our staff members want to know what we want to be when we get older.
Friday we are going to dress up like we are going to an interview. There is going to be over 42 people talking about what their careers. Students are going to be traveling to different rooms to hear from eight professionals about their careers.
Hopefully this will help the students see what is available to them.

4th Grade Field Trip

The 4 grade is having a field trip. The days we are going are the 16th and 17th of April. The places we are going are the Louisville Science Center, The Louisville Slugger Museum and The Frazier History museum. Doesn't the 4th grade field trip sound so fun?

April 13-17 the 5th grade is going to be at a hotel called Holiday Inn in Manassas, Virginia. We are going to the Tomb of the Unknown Soldiers. The exiting part is that the 5th grade is going to be laying a wreath on the tomb at the Arlington Cemetery. We will be eating out for lunch and at our hotels for dinner. We will be able to chose the Smithsonian museums we wish to visit and hope to have a private capitol tour.

On the 20th the 5th graders will have a science test.
In the next few weeks the 5th graders will take common assessment 3.
For the next eight weeks the 5th grade are going to be doing D(drug) A(abuse) R(resistance) E(education) all so known as D.A.R.E.
On February16th that is when George Washington's birthday day is. George Washington was in the American Revolutionary War and became the U.S.A's first president.
On the third Monday in January, that is when Martin Luther King Jr. birthday is. Martin Luther King Jr. was an African American that fought tirelessly for civil rights for all African Americans.

Elf-On-The-Shelf
Madison: Her elf the first day left a note saying, "You better be good." Then on the second day the elf spelled her name out in fruit loops and today her elf went into her bathroom and pooped out a Hersey kiss. PS her elf's name is Charlotte.
Mrs. Roberts: Her elf first stole a microphone. Then second sat on the TV. Also he sat on the Christmas tree. Then hung from the ceiling and finally duck tapped Mrs. Roberts daughter's door shut so she could not get out on Christmas and the elf was in her room.
Mrs. Rush: Dressed up as Santa. Then fished in a fish tank. He put sticky things on their door. He brought them a Christmas Tree with purple balls to put on the Christmas Tree.
Mr. Caudill: His elf zip lined across his office. Surround himself with M&M's spelling, "Hi Mr. Caudill," and had a sleigh ride in his office. He had a bow and arrow and drew a deer on his wall. Then he said, "Oops i missed." PS his name was Buddy.

Nov. 11 was Veterans Day. I (Jade) have 2 relatives that served in the army. Their names are Justin Ward, and Gleen Bobbitt. Justin Ward is my uncle and Gleen Bobbitt is my Grandfather. My friend named Chris has a brother in the army. I just wanted to say THANK YOU for serving our country. My partner, Brody Young has a Grandfather who was in the Navy in World War 2.

On Dec 12th is the snow flake feast! On the snow flake feast we make the mess hall into a dinner instead of waiting in those long lines the lunch ladies bring right to you. I'm so sorry fellow friends but you can't bring your parents. We hope to see you there.
On Dec. 16 is when k-5th will do the winter performance in case you don't know what we do during the winter performance k-5th sing! 2 classes from each grade pair up and then sing together sometimes in different ways. Glee Club will be performing.
Time: 5:45 student arrival 6:00 performance
